読みやすい文章とは

前からいつ書こうかとストックしてあった内容ですが、ちょうど「日経ビジネスEXPRESS」で「糸井重里」さんのインタビュー記事を読んでいて、引用したい文章に出逢ったので、ご紹介もかねて記事を書かせていただきます。

インタビュー記事は、内容が濃く、5ページにわたって書かれています。僕は読むのに10分かかってしまいました。

でも、読むストレスは少なかったと思います。インターネットでの読みやすい文字数や段落を考えられて書かれていたからです。

糸井さんは「ほぼ日刊イトイ新聞」というサイトを運営なさっています。

ブログが無い頃から、ブログのようなコンセプトをいち早く取り入れていました。今では、1日で100万ヒット！という驚くべき超有名サイトへと成長しています。

昔のサイトをご存知の方は、このサイトがインターネットの読み易い書式へと変化する過程を見ることができたのではないでしょうか。

昔はもっと読みにくい文章でした。読みにくいけど、通常のサイトから見れば読みやすいかなと思う程度。今はいろいろ考え尽くされていて読み易い。

インタビューの2ページ目に

とにかくシンプルにそして真剣に考えぬいたのが、「読みやすさ」。可読性、これにつきます。「ほぼ日」の画面はいま1行27字の文章をどんどんスクロールして読むように統一されていますが、このフォーマットを試行錯誤しながら徹底的に考えてつくった。そこに力を注ぎました。

と書かれています。とってもよく考え、作られたことがわかります。そして現在のフォーマットに辿りつくために、試行錯誤を繰り返している。

インターネット上で見る文章は、紙面で見るよりもストレスを感じます。できるだけ読みやすくすることが重要です。

僕が読みやすい文章にするために注意していることは

◆　1行の幅を一瞬で読める幅にし、文章を一目で判断できる分量にする。

これに関する例は、新聞です。新聞が読みやすいのは、文章を見た瞬間、意味が理解できる文字数、行数の分量に段落分けされているからです。

◆　テンポがよいリズムで書く。

～です。～です。～です。と同じ表現はできるだけ避ける。時々体言止めを使用し、自分で読み返したときにテンポよく読めるようにしています。

ここで書いたことはサイトの構成や、行間により違ってきます。広い幅でも行間や段落の取り方で読みやすいサイトもたくさんあります。

そいういったサイトはこの幅ならこの行間、文字の大きさ、文字数などを計算して読みやすく作成されています。（数字ではなく自分で見ながら調整することが多いと思いますけど）

僕がよく見ているブログさまで、このブログはここが見やすいと紹介しようと思ったのですが、文章が長くなりすぎるので、次の記事にします。

また、文章を書くときに参考にしているバイブル的な本があるのですが、現在手元に無く題名も忘れてしまったので後で紹介します。バイブルなら覚えとけよ！って？その通りです。(^ ^;
